To become a freemason you must be male and at least
21 years old.

You must have a belief in the existence of a "Supreme Being".

Because we are not an exclusively Christian organisation but
have members all Faiths we do not specify which God, all we
ask is that you belong to a mono-theistic faith.

You have to be proposed for and seconded by members of
the lodge which you join.

As with many organisations you will be asked to meet the
committee of the lodge and you need to be voted for by the membership of the lodge.

So how do you join?

Quite simple really, ASK!

Despite what you may have heard, you will not be invited to join, you need to step up to the door and knock for yourself.

You probably already know someone who is a freemason so ask him, it's as simple as that.

If you don't know anyone who is a mason then try looking in the 'phone book for your nearest Masonic Hall and ask there or look up your local "Provincial Grand Lodge" in the same book. You could even e-mail a lodge through its web-site, even if that lodge is not in your area they will be able to point you in the correct direction.
